On Saturday the 18th I had the great privilege of participating in The Guinness book of world records drum circle. At a little past 4:00 o'clock we started it up and 4,000 to 5,000 people were drumming at one time in the middle of the redwoods.
It was gorgeous as this Earth Dance Fest took place near Ukiah in Northern California and it was telecast on radio all over the planet. It was organized by Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead. We had a cast of stellar drummers participating which included Airto, Karl Perazo, Zakir Hussein, Chalo Eduardo and many more .
The sentiment for the day was " Give Peace a dance"

Mickey Hart's Planet Drum SUPRALINGUA (August, 1998) pairs Mickey's trademark array of musicians and instrumentation from around the globe with state-of-the-art technology, and weaves it together with exquisite vocalizations. Jorge Bermudez was one of many percussionists on this production.
Along with Zakir Hussain, Giovanni Hidalgo, and Philip Glass, Mickey composed a percussion extravaganza for the Opening Ceremony of the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta. The piece was performed by an assembly of 100 percussionists.
Artists from left to right in the photo: Rudy Ortiz, Al Guzman, Jorge Bermudez, Kim Atkinson (back), Giovanni Hidalgo, Zakir Hussain, Mickey Hart, Chalo Eduardo.
Jorge served as Mickey Hart's private conga teacher in Spring '98.
Here's what Mickey had to say about Jorge's instructional conga video:
"Jorge's spirit shines through this video and into the hearts of all serious students. A must see for all beginners."
